It’s that time of year again and you know what that means…
Back to School!
I’m usually pretty excited for this time of year, because for the last three it meant going back to work, and getting the library ready for a new round of kids. But this year, it means that I will be joining the student body as a student as well. Last year I was approved for a one-year leave of absence in order to continue with my BA. As excited as my Instagram account may be, I’m super nervous in the idea of getting back into the swing of things; the studying, the note-taking, the classes, the other people… the crowds!
I start back on September 7th. I haven’t ordered all my textbooks (9/10) – yikes…
I have already started accessorizing. Although I still had a few things, like semi-used notebooks and pens and highlighters, I was still missing something much more important…
Because of the fire I lost everything I could’ve already been using. I came to the ultimate realization that I was missing an essential item to my school experience a few weeks ago and knew that had to be fixed. I like this bag. I bought it for much less than its regular price and I think the lining is super fun, yet simple, and has black fleece in some of the pockets ❤ (love!).
So, although I may not be reporting anything on the “library life” this year, I hope to still not completely disappear from here. My goal is to read at least two books a month, and try to remember to actually write something of substance every few months – you still like those, right?
I’m also in the process of trying to come up with pretty banners to go with my posts, which is not easy as I’m no Photoshop pro.. I use GIMP, which I enjoy learning with, and I always find that PicMonkey, as great as it might be, isn’t as satisfying :p Any tips?
Well, although I’m going to miss the opportunity to see my kiddos again after a hasty retreat in May, or to get the library prepped and sparkled for their return, I’m sure whomever takes over for me will do a lovely job – hopefully.
However, it’d be very un-librarian-like of me to not include a few helpful links I’ve found floating about the interwebz:
